UFP Bolsters Its US Legal Research Team with the Hiring of Washington-Based Antitrust Attorney

LONDON–(BUSINESS WIRE)– United First Partners (“UFP”), a leading Special Situations Investment & Advisory Group, is pleased to announce the appointment of Lucas Ballet, an experienced antitrust attorney, to bolster the legal specialist team in the research department. Mr. Ballet, who will be based in Washington, DC, will expand the firm’s distinct legal research and antitrust capabilities. The growth of UFP’s U.S. footprint reflects the firm’s commitment to excellence in Special Situations Research by providing unique in-house antitrust and regulatory expertise.

Immediately prior to joining UFP, Mr. Ballet was a staff attorney in the Mergers IV Division at the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Competition, where he conducted merger investigations and litigated merger challenges in the health care, retail, consumer goods, and supermarket sectors. He received the FTC’s Janet D. Steiger Award for his contributions to the Phoebe Putney/Palmyra hospital litigation team.

Mr. Ballet received his J.D., cum laude, from American University, Washington College of Law. He also holds a MSc from the London School of Economics and a B.A. from Dartmouth College. Before law school, Lucas enjoyed a diverse career which included legislative staff positions for two United States Senators.
