InFo Instant Focus – een revolutionaire natuurlijke lens voor staar
NEUCHATEL, Zwitserland–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Swiss Advanced Vision (SAV-IOL SA – www.sav-iol.com) lanceert een product dat in de medische sector zijn gelijke niet kent. De intra-oculaire lens InFo Instant Focus, voor de behandeling van staar, geeft na verwijdering van de ooglens perfect zicht terug, precies zoals de patiënt op 20-jarige leeftijd had.
Voorafgaand aan de ontwikkeling van InFo waren twee resultaten na een staaroperatie problematisch: de correctie van ouderdomsverziendheid, oftewel de verbetering van het zicht op korte afstand, en de correctie van resolutiecapaciteit, oftewel het maken van scherp onderscheid. Bovendien heeft het brein bij alle oplossingen die tot op heden voorhanden zijn enige tijd nodig voordat het is aangepast aan de vervanging van de natuurlijke lens. Daarnaast creëren multifocale of polyfocale lenzen spookbeelden en lichtkringen.
InFo is het eerste implantaat dat de optische capaciteit direct corrigeert, zonder de scherpte te beïnvloeden. InFo ontleent zijn unieke gebruik van een enkel lichtveld met constante intensiteit aan de optische natuurkunde. Perfect te onderscheiden beelden worden op de retina geprojecteerd, ongeacht de omstandigheden. Het brein raakt daardoor niet in de war door een veelvoud aan focuspunten.
