Matrix lanceert PowerWatch, ’s werelds eerste smartwatch zonder batterij
MENLO PARK – (BUSINESS WIRE) Matrix Industries heeft de Matrix PowerWatch gepresenteerd, ‘s werelds eerste smartwatch dat gebruikt maakt van thermisch elektriciteit waardoor een batterij overbodig is. Via een crowdfundingactie wil Matrix het benodigde geld bij elkaar halen om het horloge te maken. Het wordt vervaardigd uit nano-materialen, maakt spaarzaam gebruik van energie en laadt zich op met de warmte van het lichaam.
De smartwatch synchroniseert met je smartphone en past zich dus automatisch aan de tijdszone aan waar je verblijft. Ook kan het gebruikt worden als sporthorloge die je calorieverbruik en sportactiviteiten bijhoudt. De PowerWatch is alvast te reserveren en kost net geen 170 dollar.

The rugged aircraft-grade aluminum timepiece functions as a smartwatch that wirelessly syncs with your smartphone, automatically adjusts to the current time zone, and has changeable watch faces.
