Almost 1000 people visited the Future Convention, held on 28 November 2016 at the Museum für Kommunikation, the Deutsches Architekturmuseum and the Deutsches Filmmuseum in Frankfurt. Attendees were offered ideas and concepts for the future of the economy and society and discussed the challenges and opportunities in our digitalized world. Covering 69 technical fields, student teams from 68 universities from Germany, other European countries, and Canada showcased their 100 projects at the Future Award. The Future Convention saw the presentation of the eleventh Future Award of the Future Network. Of 100 finalists, 15 were awarded prize money and given the opportunity to participate in three different coaching sessions at the Future Academy. The Future Awards were presented by the Future Network sponsors and by long-standing partners BKK-VBU (health category) and Business Wire (media category).
Renowned businesses and respected leaders gave examples of best practice at numerous workshops, panel discussions, Q&A sessions, as well as at the very first Future Network Business Conference. Business Wire also held an expert panel discussion for participants on the subject of “Start-ups and Publicity – Challenges and opportunities”. During the one-hour discussion, participants were given expert knowledge by prominent speakers Christian Kuhn from NUISOL (tech innovator and founder of five start-ups), Maria Pennanen from Accelerator Frankfurt (co-founder, angel investor and senior leader), Konstantin Ristl from blink.it (founder) and Michael Schneider from Commerzbank (Head of Advisory & Risk Innovations).
During the Future Award 2016 presentation, Mathias Müller, deputy director of internal communications at IHK Frankfurt am Main (the Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce and Industry), highlighted that the projects were becoming more advanced year on year. He also underlined how more and more students were even deciding to start their own business, which he felt was both beneficial and important for the economy.
Business Wire is proud to sponsor the Future Convention as part of its constant efforts to promote future leaders and foster emerging information technology in communications. As a company with innovation at its core, Business Wire is constantly on the lookout for the latest communications trends, enabling the news service provider to continually provide its clients with the best solutions.
