FUJIFILM KYOWA KIRIN BIOLOGICS: Aanvraag marktvergunning voor FKB327 bij Europees Geneesmiddelenbureau ter overweging geaccepteerd
TOKYO–(BUSINESS WIRE)– FUJIFILM KYOWA KIRIN BIOLOGICS Co., Ltd. deelt mee dat het Europees Geneesmiddelenbureau op 18 mei 2017 de aanvraag van een marktvergunning voor FKB327 ter beoordeling heeft aangenomen. FKB327 is een mogelijk biosimilair voor de volledige gehumaniseerde monoklonale antistof adalimumab (Humira) tegen TNF-α*1 .
Fujifilm Kyowa Kirin Biologics begon in december 2014 aan fase 3 van een internationaal, klinisch-wetenschappelijk onderzoek naar FKB327 dat is uitgevoerd in de Verenigde Staten, Europa en andere landen voor een vergelijking tussen de effectiviteit en veiligheid van FKB327 en Humira®(referentieproduct) als medicijn tegen matige tot ernstige reumatoïde artritis. In dit onderzoek behaalde FKB327 zijn primaire eindpunten en vooraf gespecificeerde criteria voor gelijkwaardigheid. Er waren geen significante verschillen tussen FKB327 en Humira® wat betreft het aantal complicaties. Op basis van de toplineresultaten, die op 19 oktober 2016 zijn gepresenteerd, besloot Fujifilm Kyowa Kirin Biologics op 17 april 2017 bij het Europees Geneesmiddelenbureau een marktvergunning aan te vragen voor FKB327.

In December 2014, Fujifilm Kyowa Kirin Biologics began a Phase 3 global clinical study of FKB327 at sites in the US, Europe and other countries to compare the efficacy and safety profile of FKB327 with Humira ®(reference product) in patients with moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis* 2. In this study, FKB327 met the primary endpoint and prespecified criteria for equivalence, and there were no significant differences in the rate of adverse events between FKB327 and Humira ®.
