Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo organiseert expositie over traditionele Japanse toneelvorm ‘Noh’

TOKIO–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo, een prestigieus internationaal hotel in Shinjuku, Tokio, houdt van 1 tot 29 juni 2017 een speciale tentoonstelling met de titel “Enjoying Japan’s Traditional Performing Art Noh”. Dit is het tweede jaar op rij dat het hotel een speciale expositie over Noh organiseert in samenwerking met het Nationale Theater voor Noh. Dit jaar is de tentoonstelling gewijd aan “Hagoromo (de gevederde mantel)”, een beroemd Noh-toneelstuk dat is geïnspireerd op legendes over hemelse boodschapsters. De expo toont traditionele uit hout gesneden Noh-maskers, fijn geweven Noh-kostuums en andere aanverwante rekwisieten van Noh-voorstellingen. Op 13 juni houdt Noh-acteur Yoshimasa Kanze een speciale opvoering van “Hagoromo”, gevolgd door een speciale lunch. Gasten hebben nog een unieke kans om dit klassieke toneel van dichtbij te zien tijdens een gratis Noh-opvoering in de hoofdlobby, op 21 juni om 17.00 uur. Deze korte demonstratie is voor bezoekers en hotelgasten.

 

 

Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo Hosts the Exhibition of “Noh” Japanese Traditional Performing Art

TOKYO–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo, one of Japan’s most prestigious international hotels located in Shinjuku, Tokyo, will host a special exhibition entitled “Enjoying Japan’s Traditional Performing Art Noh” from June 1 st to 29 th, 2017. This is the second consecutive year that the hotel will host a special Noh exhibition in cooperation with the National Noh Theatre. This year’s exhibition focuses upon “Hagoromo (Feather Robe)”, a famous Noh play based upon the celestial maiden legend, and will display traditional carved wooden Noh masks, intricately woven Noh costumes, and other related artistic props used in Noh performances. During this exhibition, a special performance of “Hagoromo” will be held by prominent Noh performer Yoshimasa Kanze on June 13 th followed by a special luncheon. Another unique opportunity to see this classic stage art up close will be during a free Noh demonstration in the Main Lobby, on June 21 st at 5:00 p.m. This short demonstration is for both visitors and staying guests.
